Course 101 "An Introduction to Puppets"

Download Puppet Training Course 101Whether you're 2 or 22 or even 102, there is something appealing about puppets. They grab and hold your attention both for entertainment and learning purposes. We have had a fantastic puppet experience over the past 25 plus years and want to help others start or continue their own.

To do that, we're introducing a series of puppet courses that cover not only how to work puppets, but how to put together a puppet team, plan shows, promote your team, write scripts and more. The following is from the introduction to course 101...

"Through this course and its application, our desire is for you to Experience Puppets. Not just learn how to work them or pick up a couple of tricks, but to experience all that puppetry has to offer. The enjoyment of putting a puppet on your hand and having it “come alive” to the audience. The knowledge that you are communicating important truths to the audience, often without them even noticing. The thrill of hearing children repeat lines from the plays showing that they truly did learn something. Learning did take place."

Course 202 "Beginning & Advanced Puppetry"

There is much more to working a puppet than just throwing it on and moving its mouth. The skills are easy to learn but do take practice. To work a puppet, you use muscles you're not used to working and you're arm can become tired quickly.

This is a thirty page comprehensive eBook covering the information you need to learn how to make a puppet seem to come alive to the audience.  It is geared to those using puppets in a theater, but includes tips for those working puppets in a classroom without a theater.

If you are planning to work puppets consistently and using scripts with three or more puppets, you'll need to put together a puppet team. Our team right now is a team of two (husband and wife) but we're looking to expand it in the near future. We've had a team as large as eight, but they can be larger.

The principles in this course apply for teams of all sizes.

This course is still in the works and will be posted soon.
